Side Effects of Higher Gas Prices

High gas prices affect a lot of things.  For example, many companies will reimburse their employees for the miles that they drive in their car for work purposes to help cover the cost of gas and the wear and tear on the vehicle.  These rates have gone up considerably with the price of gas affecting the bottom line of many businesses.

Even the newspaper industry is starting to feel this kind of pain.  In an article from Editor & Publisher we learn that the newspaper companies are having a hard time recruiting new drivers and are probably going to have to start renegotiating contract with their current drivers because of the higher gas prices.

Don’t let these side effects hurt your business.  Start using a fuel saving additive today!

Gas Prices Hit Record, Then Back off…Slightly

According to a report from CNNMoney.com, gas prices hit an all time record last Sunday of $3.285.  Since then prices have backed off just a little bit.  For example today the prices dropped off to $3.271.  Not a huge change, so don’t get too excited yet.

According to the same article, prices right now are considerably higher than they were a year ago.  Last year at this same time the price of gas was $2.572 a gallon.

With prices this high already, we can expect an expensive summer for gas prices.  Start saving money on gas now by using a gas additive.

Prices are Definitely on the Rise - Have You Noticed?

Yes, the answer to the question in the title of this post should be a resounding “Yes!” across the board.  Prices are definitely on the rise all across the nation.  Last time we gave the list of lowest states our own state of Utah was at $3.01, but since have gone up an average of $.10 across the state.  How is your state doing?

Here is the list of the top 10 lowest prices by state from GasBuddy.com:

Wyoming - $2.989
New Jersey - $2.995
Missouri - $3.046
New Hampshire - $3.066
South Carolina - $3.079
Colorado - $3.085
Minnesota - $3.091
Massachusetts - $3.093
Idaho - $3.110
Utah - $3.115

Let’s all hope the rumors aren’t true that prices are expected to hit $4 a gallon this year.  It seems that they always predict things to be a lot higher than they actually end up being, so hopefully this will be the case this year as well.

Headlines Not Looking Promising…

If you’ve been scanning some of the headlines about gas prices lately, you might be getting a little worried. Here’s a couple that we came across just today:

  • Gas prices hit record, may go to $4 a gallon
  • Gas prices may rise by 50% from April
  • Area gas prices flirt with record
  • Oil and gas prices gush to record highs

With headlines like this a lot of consumers are worried about $4 per gallon gas along with the price of everything else going up as well. And it is definitely a valid concern. Naturally we all hope that it doesn’t turn out to be true, but we haven’t seen much in the news to contradict these headlines.

One optimistic view to keep in mind is that we heard similar things last year but it wasn’t ever as bad as the experts predicted. Let’s just hope that holds true this year as well.

Either way, there is plenty that you can do to dampen the effects of high gas prices. One obvious thing you can do is to use a proven gas additive such as DurAlt. You can get this great product at FuelAdditiveStore.com!
