What Are You Doing With High Gas Prices?

Gas prices dropped about 2 cents over the weekend, but some analysts are expecting it go up at least another 10-12 cents in the next week or so.  This is because the price of crude oil continues to rise, and so naturally the price of gasoline will soon go up as well.

With the price of gasoline going up, are you taking advantage of some of the technologies and products out there that can help dampen the effect of rising gas prices?  For example, if you were to start using a proven product like DurAlt fuel additives, you could be extending your gas mileage an average of 8-12%.  If you do the math, you can see how that can see how a 10% increase in your gas mileage can really save you some money at the pump!

There are other benefits to using fuel additives as well.  Aside from increasing your gas mileage, DurAlt fuel additives can also reduce the required octane number of the gas you use, decrease emissions, and reduce engine maintenance costs.  All of these things can help you to save money over the long run.

Home Page Redesign - 9/17/2007

Just today we finished the redesign for the FuelAdditiveStore.com home page.  We hope that everyone likes the new look and feel that we’ve given this page.  Honestly, it has needed a redesign for some time now!

For those of you that are not familiar with the site, FuelAdditiveStore.com offers to the general public the DurAlt brand of fuel additives.  We carry both lines, those formulated as diesel fuel additives and those formulated as gas fuel additives.  So no matter what type of engine your vehicle has, we have the fuel additive that you need to get more out of the gas that you are already using.

Now is the perfect time of year to give DurAlt a try.  With prices going up again as refineries switch over to the new winter blend, you can start saving on your gas bill right away by using these proven products.

Oil Reaches $80 per Barrel

Another key indication that gas prices will be going up even more soon is that oil barrels reached a new high recently of $80 a barrel.  The interesting thing is that even though the price of oil has gone up, the price of gasoline has stayed the same or even gone down.  But eventually this will start to make a bigger effect on the price we all pay for gas at the local pumps.

There is a lot of speculation as to why the price has gone up: everything from OPEC, to hedge funds, and even the tropical storms in the Gulf of Mexico.  But in the end, I think most of us are only concerned with how it will affect the money in our pockets.

As the price of gasoline continues to change, you can very easily dampen the effects of that change on your family’s or business’s budget by starting to use a fuel additive.  By using fuel additives you can increase your gas mileage, lower the octane requirement of the gas you already use, and improve combustion.

Gas prices will continue to fluctuate, so start doing whatever you can to get the most out of the gas you need to use the make your living.

Gas Prices Starting to Go Up Again

We have all been lucky to enjoy the dropping prices of gas over the last two months or so, but it looks like that trend has ended and things may be turning the other way soon.  According to CNNMoney.com, gas prices have risen 6.5 cents over the last two weeks.

As we mentioned in a previous post, this is the time of year where refineries are going to start to switch over to the winter blend as well.  The good news though is that usually the winter blend makes gas cheaper overall as compared to the summer blend.

So if you aren’t already using some type of fuel additive to keep your gas going longer, now would be a great time to start.  A good fuel additive can increase your octane, making your gas last longer.  It can also deduce the required octane number of the gas that you put in the tank, so you can get better performance out of lower octane gasoline.

DurAlt for Diesel Engines

If you drive a vehicle that runs off of diesel fuel, you can take advantage of the benefits of a fuel additive as well. There are many diesel fuel additives on the market. One that has been on the market for years is DurAlt, which you can purchase at FuelAdditiveStore.com.

DurAlt has been on the market since the 80’s and has been used by large fleets of trucks, so why not give it a try in your truck as well? Currently DurAlt for Diesel is available in 16 oz bottles, gallon containers, and 55 gallon drums.

Here is a list of some of the benefits of using DurAlt in a diesel engine:

  • Protects injectors
  • Increases cetane by 2.5 numbers
